Privacy Policy

Blue Dots Urgent is a flood help service from FloodLine, LLC. Effective October 1, 2026.

This policy explains what Blue Dots Urgent collects when you use the chat at https://urgent.bluedots.nyc, sign up for alerts, or text our number, and how FloodLine, LLC uses it.

What we collect

• Your chat messages and anything you attach, such as photos of flooding or damage.
• Where you are, only if you tell us or share your location: an address, neighborhood, or coordinates.
• Who you are, if you tell us: whether you rent, own your home, or run a business.
• Your phone number and email, if you sign up for alerts or text us.
• Basic usage, such as which buttons and links are used, to improve the service. We don’t use advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and show flood risk and help for your area.
• To send the flood alerts and updates you signed up for.
• To review conversations and improve answers. Flood photos may be shared, without your phone number or email, with the neighborhood partner organizations (such as Business Improvement Districts) that use them to document flooding and seek funding for flood protection.

Text messages (SMS)

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your consent to receive text messages with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party, except the providers that deliver our messages.

You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. See our Terms for the full text message program details.

Who processes your information

We use service providers to run Blue Dots Urgent, and they may only use your information to provide their service to us:

• Twilio (text messages), Resend (email), Supabase and Vercel (hosting and storage).
• AI providers that generate chat answers (Anthropic’s Claude, through OpenRouter) and a web search provider (Exa). Your messages are sent to them to produce answers.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep information as long as it’s needed for the service. To see, correct, or delete your information, email info@floodline.nyc. On your own device, you can clear what the chat remembers by tapping the × on the chips above the message box.

Children

Blue Dots Urgent is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above.
